Professional Journey

• Started career (1988-1991) as Junior Project Fellow on ICMR project on epidemiological health hazards in Talcher-Angul industrial area; published multiple research papers.
• Worked with WAPCOS (1991-1993) on EIA/EMP projects for thermal power, newsprint, rare earth, aquaculture and CETP; handled social conflict case of Chilka Aquatic Farm.
• Joined private sector in 1993; gained deep understanding of environmental policies and beyond-compliance strategies.
• Served at Ambuja Cements (1993-2005), rising to Manager – Environment; handled E&S issues for cement, mining and supply chain during capacity growth from 0.7 to 12 MTPA.
• Awarded Best Environmental Manager (2002) by Ministry of Mines, GoI for resource conservation in cement manufacturing.
• Worked on 200 MW AD Hydro Power Project in Himachal Pradesh (2005-2006) resolving environmental & social conflicts across five panchayats.
• Joined Reliance Infrastructure (2006-2009) and later Reliance Power (2010-2020) leading EHS & Sustainability across EPC and operations.
• Handled diverse projects: coal, hydro, solar, wind, gas plants, LNG terminals, airports, highways, shipyards funded by multilateral agencies following IFC PS, ADB and Equator Principles.
• Contributed to projects like CSP 125 MW, 4000 MW integrated power project, aluminium extraction from flyash, solar wafers, FSRU Bangladesh, coal mines Indonesia.
• Also contributed to Welspun Energy (2009-2010) for power, steel, LNG terminals, iron ore mining and ESDD initiatives.

From the coastal villages of Odisha to industrial boardrooms across India, my journey bridges industries and planetary health. I work as a strategic advisor shaping Net Zero roadmaps, ESG frameworks and sustainability strategies across sectors including E-Mobility, Steel, Mining, Renewable Power, Logistics and Financial Institutions. My experience spans ESIA, ESGDD, Biodiversity, Net Zero and Sustainable Livelihood, proving that environmental understanding has evolved from plantation-driven thinking to a core business sustainability strategy.
